How to enroll your child
· Fill out both sides of the enrolment form
· Fill out the school wide permission form
· Both you and your child read and sign the cyber safety form
· Have a copy of your child's N.Z. birth certificate or if not born in N.Z, their passport.
Bring to the Otahuhu Intermediate School office during office hours
For the start of 2011 school year we request that you enroll your child by 1st November 2010 to give us time for considered placement of your child.
Students must be in full school uniform to start attendance.
Office Hours
Otahuhu Intermediate School office is open from 8.30am to 4.00pm every day.
While we have an 'open door policy' at Otahuhu Intermediate School we ask all parents/caregivers and visitors to report to the office before entering any other part of the school.
Once you have reported to the office, the office staff will fulfil your requirements or issue you with a visitors pass.
School Hours
Otahuhu Intermediate School is open for instruction from 8:30am -3:00. At Otahuhu Intermediate School we request all students to be at school by 8:40am in time for the first bell.
The day is divided into four major teaching blocks and two breaks.
Block One 8.45am-10.10am
Block Two 10.10am-11.20am
Break 1 11.20am-12.00pm
Block Three 12.00pm-1.10pm
Break 2 1.10pm-1.50pm
Block Four 1.50pm-3.00pm

Respect
· We respect each other.
Teachers and students talk respectfully to each other and listen to each other.
Forms of politeness are insisted upon.
· We respect school property.
We all care for our school property and equipment.
This includes not accepting any forms of vandalism, disrespect,negligence, or lack of care.
· We wear full uniform.
Our uniform is a source of school pride and mandated by our BOT.
We expect students to wear full uniform at all times.
Personal Responsibility
· We play fairly.
Fair play means positive sportsmanship, fair judgment, and Inclusiveness.
· We are healthy eaters.
We are a Health Promoting School and pride ourselves on selling healthy food from our tuck shop.Children are not to bring unhealthy items to school: chewing gum, fizzy high sugar drinks, chips or confectionery. Unhealthy items will be confiscated and may be collected after school .
· We encourage students to leave valuable items at home.
If a student needs to bring a valuable item to school, they must give it to the classroom teacher at the beginning of the day and sent to the school office for safekeeping. Valuable items will be returned to the student at the end of the day. Examples of valuable items – money, cell phones, iPods, technology games.
Passion
· We are passionate that every student reaches high levels of learning.
All students are thoughtfully placed within classes to achieve learning.
· We offer many extracurricular opportunities.
We encourage all students to be involved in school wide activities.
· We focus on restorative justice.
Every student is listened to.Teachers apply restorative justice practices to eliminate violence.
We will not accept putdowns, verbal, emotional or physical insults.
· We allow students to leave the school grounds only with parental permission.
Students, must sign out at the office .
