  BOLLYWOOD REPORT

On Saturday 16th October 2010 Otahuhu Intermediate's Bollywood group took part in an Intermediate dance competition called DESI INTERMEDIATE DANCE OFF held at Auckland Girls Grammer School. Everyone was really nervous backstage except for one person which was Priyanka, but as we stood behind the curtains she too became nervous. Most of  us behind the curtains were praying to god to give us the energy to make the crowd go wild and they did. As soon as we entered the stage the lights went down so we could get into position. All we could hear were the sound of people cheering. There was a spotlight on Shahad when the music began. Everyone became wild when the energetic  Punjabi song began, we couldn't even hear the song that's how much people enjoyed it. Then the boys had their spotlight as they brought back some Michael Jackson moves too, while the girls had a short break. Next up Shama had her spotlight  as she stood up and said her dialogue, then we got into position the hip-hop soon began after. We created a robot with Priyanka as the controller , Breathee. After that we did a cobra puzzle including a hip-hop set. Then I , Siksha became Chris Tucker and bashed Avikesh; the guy who messed with my radio. Then the song for which we won Best Entertainment Award began. Ashlyn  who was also dancing behind popped  up so people realised that she to was part of the  group.. You go girl! Whoohoo!  All four boys dressed up as girls and danced with us. In the song ALL IZ WELL Nazeem acted as he was spat on which after the performance people described realistic. We all became babies and slowly crawled out of our formation. While from behind the curtain Navjit and Sanjeshni  decided to join the gang. Our ending was terrific as the smallest member in our group, Shivneel, did a handstand. Later we finished off with another hip-hop set and into our groovy position. At prize giving Shahad  picked up Best Male Dancer  Award, while our group picked up Best Entertaining Group  award.
