(A programme for adults to know how best to help their children at home with reading)

This programme was designed by the Biddulph Group and is endorsed by the Ministry of Education. It is delivered by experienced teachers in our school during terms 1, 2 and 3.

The results of the programme have proven to help children’s reading.

The ‘Reading Together Programme’ is based around parents/caregivers actively being involved in their child’s reading at home.  As support for parents/caregivers the ‘Reading Together Programme’ provides workshops on how you can help your child with their reading.  The programme consists of four workshops – each 1 hour 15 minutes.  These will provide you with a variety of strategies to engage your child in reading and all workshops are hands-on.

We know that one of the things that help children to become good readers, is support from home.

Previous participants have found it a very rewarding experience and something to cherish forever.  What better way to help your child than to succeed in reading and their learning.

The Reading Together Workshops are held in our school staffroom.

Your child needs to be with you here for the second session.

Your child is welcome to be here at school every session and any younger children you may need to bring with you are welcome

We provide a biscuits and tea/ hot chocolate at every session.

You need to attend all 4 sessions. The times and dates for each session are sent to all parents at the beginning of each term.
