Board of Trustees

Kia ora. I am Tanya Brook the Tumuaki/Principal of Otahuhu Intermediate School. I have been teaching for twenty years and I am as passionate about my job now as I when I first started teaching. I feel privileged and humbled to serve on the Board here at Otahuhu Intermediate. I am excited to find out more about the awesome students, staff and community and to see how we ALL contribute to the school vision of EXCELLENCE FOR ALL, whilst demonstrating the key values of RESPECT, PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and PASSION.

My name is Matthew Jamieson, and I am a parent-elected Board member and the current Presiding Member of the Ōtāhuhu Intermediate School Board.

I have served on the Board for the past three years and feel privileged to continue for a second term, working alongside a dedicated team.

I am a public servant with experience working in vulnerable communities and building strong connections. I also volunteer with Hato Hone St John and am passionate about student leadership, including Project Wy.

I look forward to continuing to support strong outcomes for our students, whānau, and wider community.

I have lived in Ōtāhuhu for 13 years and am proud to be part of our diverse, multicultural community. My youngest son attends Ōtāhuhu Intermediate, and my older child attends Ōtāhuhu College.

I have previous Board experience at Ōtāhuhu Primary School and currently serve on the Boards of Ōtāhuhu College and Ōtāhuhu Intermediate.

I am passionate about inclusive education and proud to help ensure our school reflects the values and aspirations of our local community.

Ko Loretta Herekotukutuku tōku ingoa. I live in Mount Wellington and am proud to serve as a Parent Representative on the Ōtāhuhu Intermediate School Board.

My 12-year-old daughter is in her second year at Ōtāhuhu Intermediate, which strengthens my connection and commitment to our school community. I am also currently studying Health and Wellbeing, which supports my role as both a parent and Board member.

I feel honoured to serve our students, whānau, and wider community, and to contribute to the continued success and wellbeing of our tamariki.

My name is James Siau, and I am proud to serve as a Parent Representative on the Ōtāhuhu Intermediate School Board.

I have lived in Ōtāhuhu for over 15 years and have served as a Lead Pastor in the community for more than 4 years. I have enjoyed my time on the OIS Board and look forward to continuing to work alongside others, engage with our school community, and contribute to our school vision of Excellence for All.

I am humbled to serve as a Board member of this great school and to support decisions that contribute to the wellbeing and success of all our tamariki.

My name is Pierre Buys, and I am proud to serve as the Staff Representative on the Ōtāhuhu Intermediate School Board.

I am currently in my third year at Ōtāhuhu Intermediate as Associate Principal Pastoral Care. Before joining OIS, I worked at Sacred Heart College and Remuera Intermediate, where I held roles as a Dean and Sports Coordinator.

I wanted to become the Staff Representative because I care deeply about our school, our staff, and the success of our students. I believe it is important that staff voice is represented at Board level, and I am committed to helping strengthen the connection between our staff, students, whānau, and wider school community.
