Alo A‘alo
Alo A‘alo is our school way at Ōtāhuhu Intermediate School. It describes the values that guide how we learn, behave, relate to one another, and move together as a kura.
Using the image of the waka, Alo A‘alo reminds us that we are all part of the same journey. When we paddle together, we support each other, aim high, and make sure no one is left behind.
Our Alo A‘alo values are:
Respect — we listen, care, and show mana to others.Personal Responsibility — we take care of our learning, our choices, and our actions.Passion — we bring heart, energy, and a positive attitude to what we do.Excellence for All — we give our best, help others succeed, and celebrate everyone’s progress.
These values help our students understand what it means to belong, contribute, and succeed at Ōtāhuhu Intermediate School. They are not just for school — they are values our students can carry into their whānau, our community, and the wider world.
Alo A‘alo is how we paddle together — with purpose, pride, and mana.
