Ōtāhuhu Intermediate is proud to take part in Sports Camp at The Y Camp Adair in Hunua.
Sports Camp is a special opportunity for selected students to represent our kura in a week of sport, teamwork, leadership, challenge, and fun. Held in the beautiful Hunua Ranges, the camp gives students the chance to compete across a wide range of sports while also building confidence, resilience, independence, and school pride.
About Sports Camp
Sports Camp is designed for intermediate-aged students and gives tamariki and rangatahi the opportunity to take part in competitive sport in a supportive camp environment.
Students compete in a mix of traditional and different sporting codes, which may include sports such as basketball, netball, rugby, league, football, touch, volleyball, softball, tennis, badminton, Ki-o-Rahi, orienteering, athletics, archery, mountain biking, and team challenges.
For many students, Sports Camp is also a chance to try new sports, step outside their comfort zone, work with different teammates, and experience the responsibility of being away from home as part of a school team.
A Sponsored Opportunity
We are very grateful that Sports Camp is supported through sponsorship and community partnerships. This support helps remove barriers and gives more students the opportunity to take part in a high-quality camp and sporting experience.
Opportunities like this make a real difference for our tamariki. They allow students to build confidence, create memories, develop leadership, and experience sport in a way that may not otherwise be possible.
Staff and Whānau Support
Our Sports Camp students are supported by Ōtāhuhu Intermediate staff, who help with preparation, coaching, supervision, encouragement, and care throughout the experience.
We also appreciate the support of whānau and our wider school community. Whether it is helping students prepare, supporting with gear, encouraging attendance at training, or celebrating student success, every bit of support helps our students make the most of the opportunity.
